Dodge’s Hellcats, the Challenger and Charger, are the most powerful muscle cars ever to roll off an assembly line.
Some, of course, abide to the “no such thing as too much power” creed and there are tons of aftermarket specialists ready to fulfill their wish.
Savage Street Cars in Houston, Texas will, according to Torque News, lift the output of the Hellcat to 1,500 horsepower and 1,300 lb-ft of torque (1762 Nm) for $10,995, all in.
That’s adding an really scary 793 horsepower and 650lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque on top of the standard output thanks to a “Stage 5” upgrade for the 6.2L Hemi. No performance figures have been released, so we can only imagine what these things are capable of – that if they can put the immense power to the ground to begin with. Needless to say, the upgrade is utterly… savage.
In stock form, the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 that boasts 707 hp (527 kW) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque catapults the Charger to 60 mph (96 km/h) from standstill in 3.4 seconds, achieving 204 mph (328 km/h) if you keep the foot down long enough. The Challenger can sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and top out at 199 mph (320 km/h). Slightly slower, still one hell of a, well, Hellcat.
Oh, and one last thing: they both do the quarter mile in well under 11 seconds. Makes you curious how they’ll perform with double the power, doesn’t it? Bring on the numbers, please…
