Aston Martin may have already moved on to its next flagship supercar project in the form of the new AM-RB 001, but this does not make the one it supersedes any less magnificent.
A Vulcan will go under the hammer by Mecum Auctions at its upcoming auction in Monterey next month. This particular example is the 11th of the 24 set to be built, decked out in a deep purplish blue with a black interior.
Of course AMLVULCANXXXXXX11 boasts the same specifications as any other Vulcan, and that’s no bad thing. Its 7.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 is mounted up front and produces 820 horsepower, channeled through a six-speed sequential gearbox to the rear wheels. It rides on an adjustable pushrod suspension, with carbon-ceramic brakes, side exhaust made of inconel and titanium, and so much more we couldn’t begin to detail.
The Vulcan is strictly limited to the track and this example is sure to fetch a multi-million-dollar sum at auction, which puts it in the same league as the Ferrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR – only without the hybrid powertrain and with the old-school engine up front. Looks like the “old school” is not dead yet…
