It’s been quite a while since Citroen have sold a non DS-badged convertible version of their C3 supermini, the last one being the quirky Pluriel six years ago.
The new C3’s design lends itself to shape-shifting into a modern day Pluriel with ease, especially with those C4 Cactus features and DS3-inspired taillights.
This rendering, courtesy of Theophilus Chin, shows a hypothetical new Pluriel driving with its top down. Compared to the hatch, the rear of the car has been altered and the door has been enlarged, engulfing almost the entire airbump panel.
It seems sizably larger than the original, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing in this segment. On the other hand, it’s gone for a conventional soft top instead of the complex arrangement of its predecessor with the detachable arches. Less unique, perhaps, but a whole lot more practical.
