As the flagship in Infiniti’s Q50 range, the Red Sport 400 AWD should be well equipped to challenge the hot Mercedes.
The two are very similar on paper thanks to their twin turbo V6 units, seven-speed automatic transmissions and AWD systems. However, the reviewers found them to be quite different on the road, in terms of how they drive as well as how they look.
Of course, aesthetics are highly subjective , but there is an interesting point about how the Red Sport 400 doesn’t really separate itself that much visually from the rest of the Q50 range.
In terms of price, the C450 AMG starts off from $50,800. The Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD costs upwards of $49,950, so we’re basically talking similar prices, though you do get more power.
Where the C 450 AMG boasts 367 PS (362 HP) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque, the Q50 Red Sport comes in with 405 PS (400 HP) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. They both get to 60 mph (96 km/h) in about the same time, though one of them does come away as being a little more fun to drive than the other. Which one? Click below to find out.
