Restricted to just 50 units globally, the Maserati MC12 is one of those unicorns of the automotive world, regarded in the highest of terms. If a standard MC12 isn’t quite enough for you then today’s your lucky day as the one-off orange MC12 tuned by Edo Competition is up for sale in Calgary, Canada.
Despite its race car looks, the car remains fully street legal and is adorned with a wealth of modifications to make it all the more potent than the standard car.
For starters, the Ferrari Enzo-sourced 6.0-liter naturally-aspirated V12 has been customized to now deliver a hypercar-rivalling 840 hp at 8,500 rpm and 575 lb-ft of torque at 5,800 rpm. These insane figures rocket the rear-wheel drive monster to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9 seconds dead and 186 mph (300 km/h) in 19 seconds.
Key to the new horsepower and torque figures is the bored engine, custom camshafts, valve springs, rods and valves as well as new air filters, upgraded injectors and a stainless steel exhaust system. The redline has also been raised to a phenomenal 9300 rpm. Improvements to the gearbox have also been made.
Elsewhere, there are upgraded carbon ceramic brakes front and rear and a set of forged, center-locking wheels produced in house by Edo Competition. Numerous aerodynamic elements inspired by the track-only MC12 Corsa have also been applied.
The cost for this insanity? A rather reasonable $1.95 million. Not bad considering how much Enzos are going for these days.
