A motorist traveling alongside a group of bikers in Mexico suffered an accident after inexplicably yanking his handbrake at highway speed.

While the video speaks for itself, the description states that the man tried to pursue the bikers and mess around with them, which is what apparently led him or his passenger to pull the lever.

There’s no official report indicating that the handbrake was directly responsible for the driver losing control, but we can clearly see the rear wheels locking up right before the car hits the wall – its shape then facilitating the roll-over.

According to the rider that recorded the whole thing, the driver of the Jetta started braking right as the passenger rolled the window down, to allegedly assault the motorcyclists.

Despite the severity of the crash, paramedics treated the occupants of the car on location where it was concluded that they didn’t need to be transferred to a hospital.

Hopefully this serves as a lesson to those who often display an unsafe behavior in traffic. At the same time, it will answer a question for those of you still wondering what can happen if you pull the handbrake at high speed. Under normal circumstances, the Jetta wouldn’t have rolled over, but that concrete wall is unfortunately shaped like something that will propel a car upwards if the wheels start to straddle that bottom part.
