They say that, in Formula One at least, your teammate is your chief rival. And that’s certainly true of the relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
The two have been teammates at the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team for the past four seasons, but their relationship has been anything but smooth. The multiple world champion (hailing from the same country where the team is based), Lewis probably feels that he ought to be given priority. Nico likely feels the same, coming from the same country as Mercedes and having driven for the team since its incarnation seven years ago now, when Schumacher was still around.
Of course there can only be one #1, which hasn’t lead them to be the best of friends, exactly. But what if they were? What if their friendship were so legendary that it inspired a television sitcom, co-starring their bosses Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda? That’s the irony proposed by this latest tongue-in-cheek video, and it’s worth a laugh or two. After all, if Matt LeBlanc can host Top Gear, why couldn’t a pair of F1 drivers return the favor?
