An all-new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is on its way and the first mules are already out eating up miles.
Judging by the aesthetics of this test mule, we’re looking at the next-gen model’s new front end planted on the current Sprinter Van body, which means that full-body prototypes could follow later on in the year.
The interior is well-covered up, which can indicate that Mercedes has something new planned for the all-new Sprinter’s cabin, that they don’t want us to see just yet.
We’re also curious to know if Mercedes will implement some of their latest driver assistance systems, as well extra active safety tech on board the Sprinter. Despite this being a fully utilitarian model, the automaker could look to secure the Sprinter’s spot as one of the world’s most advanced vans by focusing on new technology.
Currently, the Sprinter is available as an easy-to-load Panel Van, but also in people-carrying Traveliner form, a pickup-styled Dropside and as a Chassis Cab model – all of which can be expected to return with the arrival of the new model.
We’re also expecting both new and updated power units for the Sprinter, which is set to debut somewhere towards the end of next year.
