With 117,963 vehicles delivered worldwide, Porsche AG is three percent up in the first six months of the year, compared to the same period in 2015.
The manufacturer’s growth was driven by the Boxster and Cayman models, with 6,740 and 6,115 units finding new homes, while the Macan managed to attract a total of 45,086 new owners. The 911 range witnessed a 10 percent increase globally, with 18,579 vehicles sold, but Panamera deliveries remained lower than the level achieved in 2015, due to the model change.
“The feedback following the world premiere of the new Panamera at the end of June has been unequivocally positive, so we are very optimistic about this. We are anticipating a significant boost from this model“. said the brand’s Member of the Executive Board of Management for Sales and Marketing, Detlev von Platen.
China remains the German manufacturer’s largest market worldwide, with 30,440 vehicles delivered in the first six months of the year, up 3.7 percent, while in the Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, Porsche sold 45,405 cars, representing a 0.5 percent increase.
