Thanks to recent confirmation, we know that the brand new second-gen Panamera will be offered in more variations than ever before. One of those new derivatives will be a special body style inspired by the Sport Turismo Concept of 2012.

Details about this version are scarce but it seems likely that it’ll sit somewhere between the standard Panamera and the impending Shooting Brake model in terms of its design and interior space.

As demonstrated by this rendering from X-Tomi Design, the key difference between the standard model and the Sport Turismo will be the latter’s adoption of a redesigned roof line and tweaked rear end. We can expect the tail lights to go unchanged but the car could be fitted with a new bumper and unique tailpipes. In this image, a subtle rooftop spoiler is also included and could very well make its way into production.

The automaker will be able to create many different versions of the latest Panamera because of its MSB architecture. This flexible platform will underpin the long-wheelbase Panamera and even be used by the next-generation Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur models.

It’s not yet known if the Panamera Sport Turismo will be offered with the same range of engines as the standard body style. If it is, then we’ll see a turbo 3.0-liter V6, a petrol 4.0-liter V8 and a turbodiesel 4.0-liter V8. A range of plug-in hybrid models are also on the cards.
