Tesla’s zero-emission SUV with supercar-like performance, the Model X, raced up the Goodwood hill climb last weekend.

With a camera strapped behind the front seats showing the ginormous panoramic windscreen, the scenery moved fast around the gullwing-door electric vehicle, which completed the 1.16-mile (1.86 km) long course in no time.

We gather that this is probably the range-topping P90D version, which needs just 3.2 seconds to go from naught to sixty (96 km/h) with the Ludicrous Speed Upgrade that rises the motor’s total output from the standard 463 HP to 532 HP. This means that the Model X is faster than a BMW M5 and nearly matches the performance of the Lexus LFA.

The electric SUV wasn’t, however, the only Tesla vehicle to be put through its paces last weekend, as a slightly modified Model S managed to shatter the old electric car record during the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The zero-emission sedan tackled the 156 turns of the 12.42-mile (20 km) long course in 11 minutes and 48 seconds.
