If you’re into Mercedes-built roadsters, then owning one as extreme as the Brabus 800 should make cruising in the sunlight feel even more special.

If George R.R. Martin can make winter sound scary, we’re pretty sure this 800 PS convertible SL 65 AMG can be equally menacing in a much more pleasant climate. To create it, Brabus took bthe V12-powered SL 65 and upped its 630 PS and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) to a massive 800 PS (789 HP) and 1,491 Nm (1,100 lb-ft).

This results in a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 3.7 seconds, whereas 200 km/h (124 mph) takes just 9.8 seconds. As for the top speed, whereas in the SL 65 you needed the optional AMG Driver’s Package to get it up to 300 km/h (186 mph), this thing will do 350 km/h (217 mph) flat out.

In comparison, the stock SL 65 would have also been 0.3 seconds slower to 100 km/h, so we really are talking about a complete upgrade, which is why Brabus came up with a €299,000 price tag.

As for looks, this particular one might be a bit understated with that silver exterior. The cabin however is as extravagant as it gets with leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber and aluminum just about everywhere – not to mention its very unique three-tone appearance, making us curious to know how you feel about it, as opposed to the darker, perhaps more straight-forward look that you often find inside the regular SL 65.
