Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to roll out yet another version of the , which will go into uncharted territory and rival the likes of the Audi A6 Allroad.
Based on the recently unveiled E-Class Estate, the crossover-ish model, expected to wear the All Terrain nameplate, has started testing on the public roads of Germany and it wasn’t long until it was scooped on video.
Setting it apart from the standard wagon will be the new plastic body claddings, added to the front side and rear, which could remain black, just like the ones fitted to its main competitor, while the underbody protection, adjustable air suspension and jacked up ride height will allow it to tackle dirt roads with ease.
The engine lineup shouldn’t offer any surprise, as the same four- and six-cylinder units found on the latest E-Class Estate are expected to make their way under the hood, with output channeled to all four corners probably through the new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Previous info states that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain will be unveiled this October, so chances are we might catch a glimpse of it at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.
