There are outlandish motorcycle manufacturers, that offer astonishing products for sale, and then there’s Boss Hoss.
Founded by Monte Warne in 1990 and based in Dyersburg, Tennessee, this particular motorcycle company manufactures special high-performance motorcycles and trikes equipped with Chevy-sourced 350 cu small-block and 502 cu big-block engines. That’s exactly 5.7-litres and 8.2-litres respectively, making them the most powerful motorbikes in the world.
Even more impressive was that prior to 1996, all Boss Hoss products were “kit” bikes, meaning the company provided the frame and other additional components, while the customer was solely responsible for adding an engine. Due to the enormity of the engines in conjunction with the tall-geared semi-automatic transmission, Boss Hoss bikes are described as being vibration free during accelerations.
This particular Boss “Stud” Hoss 502, offered for sale on eBay, is a 2001 model (thankfully), but it’s the full fat, 502 hp, 8.2-litre variant, has an enormous radiator to match and a proper motorcycle tire at the back (early variants used an automobile rear tire).
The 502 models were built from 2000 to 2008 in limited numbers, so getting one is quite a treat. With the current bid stuck at $15,750, the motorcycle is as cheap as it can get.
