The new 2017 Nissan Pathfinder goes on sale this week nationwide, with the company revealing pricing and range details.
Nissan’s updated SUV is now offered with a revised front end, a new engine and a host of several upgrades to help it in dealing with the opposition in its crowded segment.
The 3.5-litre V6 engine has gained a direct-injection system which takes the power up to 284hp from the previous model’s 260hp. The V6 is still paired to a CVT gearbox, with Nissan claiming a fuel economy of 20mpg in the city and 27mpg highway.
The new Pathfinder also claims to offer the segment’s best towing capacity with up to 6000lbs when properly equipped. Speaking of equipment, Nissan has added new active safety systems, including Forward Emergency Braking, Intelligent Cruise Control and Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection.
The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is available both in 2WD and 4WD configurations and in four trim levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Prices start at $30,890 (including destination and handling fees) for the S 2WD model with the range-topping Platinum 4WD asking for $44,460.
