Scheduled to reach Australian and New Zealand showrooms in early September, the updated Holden Colorado benefits from top levels of protection for occupants and pedestrians.

Tested by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), the workhorse poses no major threats, as near good ratings in Frontal Offset, combined with perfect scores in the Side Impact and Pole tests, and Good Whiplash Protection have brought it a 5-star safety rating.

Mid-cycle updates for cosmetic purposes are common across all makes and models but it is pleasing to see Holden has made mid-cycle safety improvements to their popular light commercial model”, said ANCAP’s Chief Executive Officer, James Goodwin. “The stand out element in our assessment of this model is its pedestrian protection score, entering the ‘Good’ range with ease. This is a marked turnaround for vehicles of this type where historically, we have seen poor results.

The 2017 Holden Colorado benefits from standard dual frontal, side chest, curtain and driver’s knee airbags, along with seatbelt reminders fitted to all fixed seats. All versions of the pickup truck have automatic headlights, DRLs, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, electronic data recorder, emergency stop signal, hill launch assist, roll stability system, speed assistance and trailer stability control, among others.
