That took a while, no? Setting up performance driving courses like Porsche, Lamborghini and others, that is, but finally high-performance Lexus has launched the Lexus Performance Driving School, and it’s slated to hit race tracks across the country in the coming months.

The catalog includes three levels. There’s the Express Experience that includes classroom training followed by driving on an autocross course and lead-follow laps on the race track. It’s the most basic program, but the upshot is that it’s free – assuming you can secure an appointment.

There’s also a Half-Day Experience that, for $495, adds training in braking and on the slalom and skidpad and hot laps on board with a pro instructor ti the Express Experience.

Pony up $895 and the Full-Day program gives you training in racing lines and driving theory as well – and, as the name says, the program lasts the whole day.

The sessions take place behind in the automaker’s F Sport and full-on F performance models, including the IS350 F Sport, RC 350 F Sport, RC F and GS F – the former two powered by a 3.5-liter V6 good for 306 horsepower, the latter by a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 467 hp.

Interested in taking part? The road show hits the Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Florida, from September 30 to October 2; the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, from October 7-9; the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville October 27-29; and the Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California, from February 10-12 of next year.
