How about a regular Porsche that’s been crafted to look like a 993 GT2 and perform like a 997 GT3?
RUF isn’t your ordinary tuner, as the German company manufactures and engineers its own original vehicles. That’s why RUF is officially recognized as a car manufacturer, offering RUF-certified VIN/serial numbers along with its products.
Give them a Cayman and they’ll build you an RK, give them a 911 and they’ll come up with the RGT. The latter isn’t based on modified performance-bred 911, but on a body-in-white, 3.6-litre Carrera that RUF bored to 3.8-litre (3746 cc), modified the exhaust, replaced the ECU and added a dry-sump lubrication system.
The result is a 445 hp, naturally aspirated 911 that’s getting close to the official 997’s GT3 RS’ performance figures. With a 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 317 km/h (196 mph), the RGT is just 0.2 seconds slower off the line than Porsche’s track-focused offering but compensates with a higher top speed.
It also comes with an integrated roll cage and racing suspension, riding on 19-inch alloy wheels, just in case you want to set new records on your local track.
This model offered for sale by RUF, has only traveled 19,500 km (12,116) and it features a Nappa leather dark blue interior, sports bucket seats, lightweight doors made out of Kevlar, climate control, navigation system, and BOSE sound system.
It’s €235,000 ($265,350) might be a little steep for some, but this car is actually one of RUF’s first RGTs, that appeared in the official press release when it was launched.
