Whether you’re a fan of Elon Musk’s electric cars are not, there’s no denying the Model S P90D is one very serious piece of kit. Capable of out-accelerating supercars while offering a plush and comfortable ride with never-before-seen technology certainly makes it appealing to the wealthy upper class.
The question is, can Tesla’s super saloon appease car enthusiasts, too? Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire recently got his hands on a highly-specced Model S and decided to test it out on perhaps the most famous of all canyon roads, Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles.
As the P90D has two electric motors delivering the equivalent of approximately 762 hp, it certainly ticks the box for speed. Perhaps what is more interesting is that because the car has such a low center of gravity, adjustable suspension and fat tires, it corners like a much lighter and smaller sports car or sports sedan.
Can the car’s Autopilot drive ‘The Snake’ on its own? Watch the video after the jump to find out.
