This has to be one of the nicest and cleanest examples of Mazda’s FD generation of the RX-7 family.

Its owner followed the tested and trusted route of improving his car by converting it to a single-turbo status while choosing high-quality peripherals in order to get the best out of his red example.

The very same car was featured in an older Tuned video that compared it to a V8-swapped RX-7 but since then the owner installed a different manifold and a different wastegate setup that helped in quieting things down and making it more durable on the track. He also installed a set of Ohlins dampers for even better cornering performance.

The Mazda RX-7 FD is certainly of the most timeless designs and easily one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars ever, with many people believing that this was the pinnacle of the rotary engines.

It certainly doesn’t look like a car that’s been around for over 20 years now and it definitely doesn’t drive like one as well. Matt Farah gets a quick taste of this rotary beauty in his latest One Take video.
