Famed designer and car customizer Chip Foose is embarking on one of his most ambitious projects ever, turning a car sketched in 1935 into a reality.

Back in the 1930’s, car dealer Wes Rydell commissioned a bespoke Cadillac coupe with his wife. It was sketched out by GM designer Art Ross and was set to be based around a Cadillac sedan albeit with a shortened wheelbase, a lower ride height and a removable hardtop. Due to unknown reasons, the car never saw the light of day.

Fast forward to 2016 and Foose has revealed his plans to actually build the car, basing it around a 1939 Cadillac Series 60 Sedan. While the original design will be followed, Foose will add a number of his own distinctive styling traits to the car in a project he dubs ‘Madam X’.

As Foose’s sketch shows, the car will be painted burgundy and fitted with chrome wheels adorned with burgundy accents.

It’s not known who commissioned Foose Design to build the car. Nevertheless, it’s expected to be unveiled at the end of the summer.
