Porsche’s facelifted 911 GT3 has been filmed during its latest round of testing at the Nurburgring, blessing us with its incredible sounding flat-six cylinder engine.
Although the prototype filmed was fitted with the body of the current 991.1 model, the refreshed model will be adorned with the same styling changes as the rest of the 991.2 range. That means we will see slim LED daytime running lights, modified headlights and taillights, tweaked front and rear bumpers and different door handles.
While Porsche has adopted turbocharged engines for most of the 911 range, the facelifted GT3 will retain the current model’s naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter flat six. Power is expected to rise slightly from the current 468 hp nearer to the 500 mark.
The most exciting thing about the new GT3 will be the availability of a six-speed manual transmission, a gearbox option which was scrapped for the 991 GT3 but is set to make a return due to customer demand.
