American Honda is conducting a new safety campaign that involves 11,846 units of the 2016 Civic Coupe in the United States.
Discovered by the automaker during a routine inspection at the factory, the faulty taillight assemblies may have an LED side marker light circuit board that was damaged during transit from a parts supplier, making it inoperable and non-compliant with federal safety standards due to low visibility in traffic, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Honda may not be aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition, but still advises owners of the affected 2016 Civic Coupes to take them to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive the notification letter, which will be issued in early September. Once an appointment will be scheduled, technicians will determine if the rear side marker lights illuminate properly and, if necessary, they will replace the entire light assembly, free of charge.
