And the least important question about the upcoming Koenigsegg Regera is finally answered.
Being one of the most anticipated entries in the hypercar segment, the new Koenigsegg Regera not only wants to impress with its 1,500hp but also wants to rewrite the rule book with its innovative powertrain.
The Koenigsegg Regera boasts a combined output of more than 1,500hp sent from its hybrid powertrain directly to the rear without a gearbox, reducing this way the energy losses by 50 per cent and making it effectively a single-speed car.
How is this going to affect the way it drives remains to be seen with Christian von Koenigsegg expressing his certainty that gearless transmissions is the way to go.
All we know so far is that the Regera can sprint to 400km/h (249mph) from zero in under 20 seconds and according to this short video posted on Koenigsegg’s social accounts, that it can evaporate its rear tires should the driver feels the need to.
After all, what’s the point of having 1,500hp under your right foot if you can’t make a proper burnout?
