If you want a brand new Koenigsegg, you’ll have to wait around 2 and half years for your car to be delivered. However, the Swedish manufacturer is planning to boost production to slash those excessive waiting times.
The news was confirmed on the official Koenigsegg Twitter account after a fan asked how long it would take to build and deliver a car if he were to theoretically order one. While a 30 month wait is a long time, it isn’t all that surprising considering fewer than 150 Koenigseggs have been produced since the marque started series production 14 years ago.
As all 25 units of the Agera RS have been sold, prospective customers can now only order the transmission-less Regera.
The car promises to deliver upwards of 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque and will apparently accelerate from a standstill to 400 km/h (248 mph) in just 20 seconds. This figure promises to decimate even the Bugatti Chiron.
It remains unclear when deliveries of the Regera will begin.
We are currently booked out around 2.5 years but are looking to increase production and reduce that wait. https://t.co/a8ForSLmul
