The problem with showing off for the camera, is that you end up doing silly things and taking chances that you normally wouldn’t.
Case in point, the driver of this Mercedes-AMG GT went too far while showcasing his powersliding “skills”, lost control of his rear-wheel driven supercar and hit both a Porsche 911 Carrera S as well as a Ferrari 458 Italia.
The incident happened last Friday in Balneario Camboriu, a southern Brazilian town where these cars were attending a local makeshift race known as a TSD rally (time-speed-distance) – where the objective is to drive each segment of the public road course in a specified time while averaging a specified speed.
As soon as the AMG-GT pulls out of the driveway, you can tell the driver just lit up the rear wheels with no intention of letting off the throttle – in turn causing him to drift straight into a pair of parked supercars.
It’s a shame really, especially when there’s collateral damage to somebody doing something they shouldn’t in traffic.
