With 660 horsepower on tap and the wind in your hair, the Ferrari 488 Spider would be more than enough of a thrill ride for most of us.
But there will always be more, and for those individuals there are tuners like Novitec.
The German modifier’s latest project transforms the Prancing Horse drop-top with all manner of enhancements – not the least of which, as you might have guessed, are found under the hood.
Without changing any inner mechanical components, Novitec Rosso tinkered with the ECU and installed a new inconel exhaust system to boost output from the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 to 772 horsepower and 658 lb-ft of torque. That ought to be enough to send the roadster from 0-62 in just 2.8 seconds and on to a top speed of over 212 miles per hour.
To go with the added power, the tuner is also offering a full aero kit – tested in the wind tunnel – including a front splitter, rocket panels, diffuser and rear spoiler. Various carbon-fiber trim pieces round out the look, and the whole thing rides on 21-inch forged alloys fitted to a hydraulic suspension. The result, as you can see from the images below, is a pretty radical transformation.
