McLaren’s trademark butterfly doors are quite possibly the coolest on the market, opening and closing in such an elegant way as to make any model that little more special. Unfortunately for one 570S, one of its wings was clipped, quite literally.
While being reversed into a transporter truck, the bright red 570S running on Dubai plates and outfitted with dozens of stickers, can be seen crashing into the side of the truck when the driver leaves the vehicle but forgets to close the door.
Seemingly in a rush, the dressed-up driver leaves the British sports car to its own devices and to slowly creep its way up the ramp and into the bed of the truck by not applying the parking brake. Realizing his mistake, he rushes back to the car and tries to tug on the door to stop it hitting the truck.
It doesn’t work and it can be seen and heard crunching its way to a stop.
While the extent of the damage to the door is hard to judge, the driver can be seen swiftly taking it inside a workshop where the damage would have been assessed.
Talk about having a bad day on the job.
