Limited to just 375 examples worldwide, the road-going McLaren P1 is one of the most desirable cars on the planet at the moment. It’s so insane that as this video demonstrates, driving one awards you certain privileges.
Put together in vlog format here by Effspot Photography from Monterey Car Week, the clip shows a stunning gloss black P1 in all of its British hybrid hypercar glory, cruising through the streets of sunny California and looking oh-so-impressive doing so.
Alongside the black paint, this particular P1 stands out thanks to the orange accents on the rear diffuser and front splitter and when driven on the street in the track-only Race mode, it makes even the Batmobile look tame.
While the P1 was conceived as a car to demolish pretty much any other road-legal car on a racetrack, its 903 hp twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain is refined enough to be used on a daily basis and even in stop-start traffic. Making the car all that more liveable is the fully-active electronic suspension system and its ability to drive solely on electric power.
The lesson here is that if you own a McLaren P1, you can pretty much do whatever you want.
