Tennis ace Roger Federer has channelled his inner Andre Agassi and John McEnroe in a new advertisement for Mercedes-Benz.

The tongue-in-cheek commercial portrays Federer, the king of tennis courts of the 21st century, as a player of the ages, consistently at the top of the sport for the past century all while maintaining his dashing good looks and adapting to the times.

If fashion demanded the Swiss superstar exposed he’s hairy chest in steamy magazine shoots, he’d do it. If he had to grow a mullet and dye it blonde, he’d do it. If he wanted to pick up women, he’d get behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SL.

First introduced in 1954, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class remains the firms most iconic convertible, updated throughout the decades and still remaining in a class of its own. As with Federer, it’s styling has changed but as the German company rightfully asserts “excellent endures”.
