When Bugatti set about promoting its latest and greatest hypercar, the Chiron, for its Geneva debut, it had to somehow create a promo clip without a running production-spec prototype.
Ever pushing the boundaries, the French automaker decided to film a Veyron doing the rounds at the Ascari Race Resort and then simply past the body of the all-new Chiron on top.
Of course, it is a much more complex process than that. For starters, a Veyron had to be adorned with a plethora of tracking markers across the body, allowing videographers to accurately capture every square inch of the hypercar.
Using complex CGI, producers of the promo were able to replace the body of the Veyron with that of the Chiron, giving off the impression that the new car was finished and ready to tackle any track in the world.
The more you know.
