The revamped 2017 VW Beetle gets a fresh gallery as it gets closer to its official market launch.
VW updated the Beetle with a pair of redesigned bumpers, new color options and new fabrics and a revised range that now includes the Denim, Exclusive Design and Exclusive R-Line models.
Also new is the Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Traffic Alert system which warns the driver of any vehicles in the blind spots or during reversing out of a parking space.
The cabin now features new colors, materials and technologies, including a painted center console, new dashpad designs, new seat fabrics and colors, new instrument dials and brighter, adjustable ambient lighting. The company’s latest infotainment system is offered as an option and comes with a 6.3-inch touchscreen display, MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new VW Beetle will come with five different engine options: three TSI petrol and two TDI diesel units. The petrol engine range kicks off with the turbocharged 104hp (105 PS) 1.2-litre unit and reaches all the way up to the 217hp (220 PS) 2.0-litre TSI. Similarly, the diesel range consists of a 2.0-litre TDI engine offered in 108hp (110 PS) and 147hp (150PS) guises. Every engine can be mated to a dual-clutch DSG gearbox as an option.
The R-Line model is replacing the Sport one as the range-topper and offers sports seats, red-painted brake calipers, a chrome tailpipe, special 17-inch alloy wheels and wider body fenders for a more dynamic appearance.
