VW Commercial Vehicles is looking to add a new Sportline grade to its strong-selling Transporter range, making it look a little more aggressive.
The new high-spec will be available initially on the T32 kombi model, giving it a set of 18″ bi-color alloy wheels, a lowered suspension, deeper front and rear spoilers, trapezoid styling bars with puddle lights and carbon fiber mirror caps.
Inside, the Sportline features embossed leather interior trim, Climatic air conditioning, a heated windscreen and a Discover Media touchscreen sat-nav system.
Furthermore, the first raft of kombi Sportline models will come with front parking sensors, LED headlights and taillights, USB port and App Connect.
Performance-wise, the first model to be available in Sportline trim will be the Transporter T32 2.0 BiTDI 180 PS, which also comes with VW’s acclaimed seven-speed DSG automatic.
VW is also announcing that they’ll be expanding the Sportline range by adding a panel van model, plus additional wheelbase and transmission options that can be ordered later this year (delivery early 2017). These models will come with a 201hp (204PS) 2.0-liter BiTDI engine and a choice of two gearboxes – a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic.
With a £36,295 (OTR exc VAT) price tag next to its name, Transporter Sportline customers are expected to take delivery in September.
