Beyond all the modern-day supercars it attracts, Monterey Car Week is truly extraordinary for the selection of prized classic racing cars which hit Laguna Seca throughout the festivities and last year, two of the very best were a Ferrari 250 GTO and a 1959 Corvette.
Throughout the event’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, these two insanely valuable cars battled it out on the famed circuit for almost 18 minutes and the resulting footage is absolutely jaw-dropping.
In recent times, the 250 GTO has consistently been the world’s most expensive automobile. In 2014, a 1962 example sold for an extraordinary $52 million.
While we don’t know the history of the GTO in this clip, it’s worth more than $20 million – yet despite that, the owner is happy to race wheel-to-wheel with the glorious blue and white Corvette at the demanding Laguna Seca circuit.
