We’re all familiar with people who cross the street looking either at their phones or straight forward, reassured by the fact that law is on their side and that drivers or riders would try to avoid causing someone else harm.
Let’s just be thankful that this lady in the green dress had the presence of mind to look traffic in the eye while she was crossing, otherwise she might have walked straight into that out of control motorcycle.
Because that dashcam only caught some of the impact along with the aftermath, we can’t exactly say what happened that caused the two bikers to collide.
All in all, this is yet another unfortunate example that accidents can happen anytime and that pedestrians need to stay vigilant even when using the crosswalk. Having the law on your side is of little comfort if you’ve already gotten hurt because you weren’t paying sufficient attention.
