An Arlington, Virginia, woman’s test drive of a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE took an upside down turn –literally- just six seconds after starting the car.
The accident happened at around 11:30 am on Friday at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Ballston, as local news site ARLnow reported.
Arlington County police said that the female driver was just beginning the test drive and may have mistaken the GLE 350’s gas pedal for the brake. Whatever the case, the woman shot the Mercedes-Benz SUV at speed into four other parked vehicles at the dealership…including her own crossover, before it rolled onto its side.
There were four other people in the $60,000 Mercedes SUV during the test. The fire department said that there were no serious injuries, though, one dealership worker “was evaluated by medics for a possible back injury”, according to the same report.
It’s not clear who will pay for all the damages…nor if the woman made a decision about buying the GLE.
