While most of the industry gears up for the Paris Motor Show, the commercial-vehicles side of the business is preparing for another show: the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover. That’s where Volkswagen will roll out two new versions of the recently updated Amarok pickup.
In its refreshed iteration, the Amarok is available with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine, which, in addition to the more potent 221-horsepower version) will now be offered in 201-hp spec to bridge the gap to the smaller four-cylinder engine.
The headline addition to the range is the new Canyon edition, whose name GMC apparently doesn’t mind lending to its transatlantic compatriot. The VW Amarok Canyon is based on the Comfortline model (which is also marking its debut at the exposition) and comes in double-cab configuration with all-wheel drive, 17-inch alloys, and matte black trim for the side steps, sports bar, door handles, b-pillars, and cargo bed coating.
