First we saw a tester of the upcoming Volkswagen CC camouflaged to its teeth and then a set of alleged leaked images.
The latest story that brings the four-door coupe forward is based on a couple of renderings posted by RemcoM, who took some of the lines of the aforementioned pictures and combined them with the Sport coupe Concept GTE from last year’s Geneva Motor Show.
The new CC should adopt new LED headlights, a similar front end to VW’s latest products and the signature sloping roofline and, of course, maintain the frameless doors. Rumor has it that, unlike the current model, which has been around since 2007 (with an update in 2011), it will adopt a 5-door liftback body, similar to its Audi A5 Sportback cousin and the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe.
Styling aside, the next CC will be based on the MQB platform and share plenty of features with the current Passat (B8), including some powertrains. Expect the exact same car on the North American market too, shortly after its European launch sometime next year.
