Alfa Romeo’s lineup for this year’s Paris Auto Show includes a new version of the Giulia, which adds the Veloce suffix.
Unveiled over the web and with its order books set to open in the first day of the French event, on September 29, the compact sedan will be showcased in two examples and will see the debut of the Blue Misano livery.
The first car will be powered by the new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, with 280 PS (276 HP) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, while the second one will get a 2.2-liter diesel engine, which is the first of its kind in the brand’s history to have been built entirely of aluminum. The latter mill develops 210 PS (207 HP) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. Both models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which pushes the output to the Q4 all-wheel drive system.
Joining the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce at the Paris Auto Show will be two Giulia Super models, with a 180 PS (177 HP) 2.2-liter diesel engine and 200 PS (197 HP) 2.0-liter petrol unit, both with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. These cars have been equipped with the Sport Pack, Luxury Pack, and Mopar carbon accessories in the grille, side mirror casings and gearknob.
The Giulia family will be completed by the Competition Red Giulia Quadrifoglio, powered by a 2.9-liter V6 bi-turbo petrol engine, rated at 510 PS (503 HP) and equipped with ultra lightweight 19-inch rims, carbon ceramic brakes and Sparco seats.
Revised in time for this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the MiTo and Giulietta will be on display in Paris as well, where they will be joined by the MiTo Veloce and Giulietta Veloce. The former has a host of restyled features and Mopar accessories, and takes its power from a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo petrol unit, rated at 170 PS (168 HP) and mated to a TCT automatic transmission.
The latter is distinguished by an Etna Black metallic livery, tweaked bumpers with red inserts, 18-inch alloy wheels, Brembo braking system, new seats wrapped in leather and Alcantara, and racy contoured steering wheel. Power comes from a 240 PS (237 HP) 1,750cc turbo petrol engine, mated to a TCT automatic transmission. The Alfa Giulietta Veloce on show also features Mopar accessories.
An Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe, with three-coat metallic Stromboli Grey livery and carbon fiber elements will also be showcased in Paris, along with a 4C Spider in three-coat Competition Red, with a carbon fiber roll-bar cover, and Akrapovic exhaust system. Both cars are powered by the same 1,750cc engine.
