Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wants to make the Alfa Romeo brand highly competitive by the turn of the decade, and to do so, more models will be added to the lineup.

Besides the Stelvio SUV, which is tipped to join this year’s LA Auto Show, the automaker plans to introduce a full-size sedan as well, according to a road map published by the FCA Group. This will sit on top of the current Giulia and rival the likes of the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, among others.

Another vehicle that appears on the brand’s product plan is a hatchback that will probably replace the current Giulietta, which has been around since 2010. By the time it will hit the market, the compact car will go up against the Volkswagen Golf 8 and other models in the segment, including the Ford Focus, Renault Megane and Opel Astra.

Two more SUVs will follow in the footsteps of the Stelvio, but details on these remain scarce for now, and so does the info that refers to two “specialty” cars, which appear on the Alfa Romeo road map as well.

If all goes as planned and nothing will interfere with the development of these new models, then expect all of them to be on sale by mid-2020, with an initial launch focused on the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and NAFTA (Canada, Mexico, United States) markets.
