The 2016 Paris Motor Show might be just around the corner, but Alpine is currently focusing on the European Heritage Days, which will see Renault’s brand go on display in the gardens of the Elysee Palace, in Paris.
Hosted between September 17 and 18, the event will give the Parisian public its first chance to take a look at the Alpine Vision Concept from close quarters, which took this year’s Geneva show by storm, a couple of weeks after it was revealed at an event in Monte Carlo.
“We are extremely proud to have received this invitation. It is evidence of the close ties the French have with Alpine. The brand is part of their culture. Our presence at the Elysee Palace this weekend has a symbolic edge, too, since 2016 is the year of Alpine’s revival – the renaissance of a legend“, said the company’s Managing Director, Michael van der Sande.
While Alpine is still displaying the Vision Concept, this has recently evolved into a prototype, which has been seen for the first time a couple of days ago, wearing a production body wrapped under a thick layer of camouflage. By the time it will be ready for the market, which is probably sometime in 2017, it’s expected to pack a turbo’d four-banger with roughly 250 horsepower and to tackle the likes of the Porsche Cayman with its ability to go from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4.5 seconds.
