It’s been two years since Peugeot won the 2014 Car Of The Year (COTY) award with the 308 and Carwow is taking a look at not only how it has aged, but also how it compares to the 2016 COTY winner, the Opel/Vauxhall Astra.
The new Astra combines the type of sportiness and comfort that was otherwise only reserved for the likes of the Ford Focus and the VW Golf, but the 308 shines almost as much today as it did back in 2014 when it won the award itself thanks to its stylish yet sporty looks, surprisingly well-built interior and comfortable ride.
Cawow’s Mat Watson points out that you don’t necessarily have the best of both worlds with the 308 as you do with the Astra (something he’s previously stated in an older review). Also, with the Peugeot, you have a large boot but less room in the back than you do with many of its rivals.
The conclusions don’t stop there, but we’ll leave you to find out what they are for yourselves. Keep in mind that, as of this year, the 308 also has the all-new Megane to worry about – a car that’s done very well in recent reviews.
