Fans of racing simulators were undoubtedly thrilled by the launch of the new F1 2016 game just a couple of weeks ago. But now that the game’s out for consoles, the programmers at Codemasters have more good news.

In addition to the version just released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PCs, the studio announced that there’s another version coming to additional devices. Though details remain sketchy at the moment, Codemasters confirmed that the game is to be launched for Android, iOS and tvOS sometime this fall – in other words, within the next few months, at most.

That will put the virtual grand-prix racing action on iPods, iPads and iPhones, as well as Apple TVs and all manner of Google-powered devices.

The announcement was confirmed on the Codemasters blog after the news was apparently revealed during the Apple keynote presentation last night. There the Cupertino-based tech giant revealed the latest Apple Watch, iPhone and wireless earbuds.

For a taste of what’s to come, check out this hot lap video from the console version. It’s taken from the virtual point of view of Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari at the Monza circuit where the actual Italian Grand Prix took place in real life this past weekend. The mobile version is bound to be a bit less spectacular, but the ability to take it with you ought to make up for any degradation in quality. Besides, it’ll be on a smaller screen.
