The FIA has approved the provisional calendar for the 2017 Formula One World Championship, although a few races are still subject to confirmation.
As in recent years, the season will kick off in Melbourne on March 26 before heading to Shanghai, Bahrain, Sochi, Barcelona and Monte Carlo in the following months. At the moment, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal has been scheduled for June 11 but it still requires final approval after promised track and facility works have yet to be completed.
The European leg of the championship will kick off on June 18 in Baku, Azerbaijan and then visit Spielberg, Silverstone, Budapest and potentially, Hockenheim, currently struggling with financial issues and yet to be confirmed for next year’s season either.
The final nine races will consist of the Belgian GP, Monza, Sepang, Singapore, Suzuka, Austin, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi. Despite being one of the most thrilling tracks and races on the calendar, the Brazilian Grand Prix is also subject to confirmation because of financial issues.
