As the official automotive sponsor and partner of the British Paralympic Association, Nissan will hand over the keys of a brand new Gold Leaf to Richard Whitehead.
The Paralympic 200m T42 Rio 2016 World Champion, who also happens to be one of the brand’s ambassadors, is starring in a short film, called “Living with the Leaf“, alongside his strength and condition coach Dave Jackson.
The footage shows the pair as they drive the zero-emission vehicle to a training session and reveals passers-by whishing Richard luck, prior to the athlete’s departure to Brazil.
“Richard’s fun and engaging personality really helped explain the benefits of electric driving in a simple way when filming ‘Living with Leaf’ and we’re all so proud to have him associated with Nissan. He is the perfect person to receive one of our limited edition gold Leafs to mark his fantastic achievement in Rio“, said the automaker’s GB Marketing Director, Chris Marsh.
Besides Richard Whitehead, who will get to enjoy a Nissan Leaf wrapped in brilliant bright gold upon his return to the United Kingdom, the automaker will also gift artistic gymnast Max Whitlock and rower George Nash with two other special edition units of the car, following their success at the Olympic Games.
