The year may be winding to a close, but it’s not quite done yet. Not in RM Sotheby’s books, at least. Before 2016 comes to a close, the automotive auction house will hold one last event. And it looks to be a doozy.
The auction is dubbed “Duemila Ruote” – Italian for “2,000 wheels” – and it will feature at least that many. All told, the auction is set to include a staggering list of 430 cars, 150 motorcycles, 60 boats, and hundreds of bicycles and collectible items of automobilia – all of it offered without reserve.
The lots come consigned all from one collection, and features a staggering array of collectible machinery old and new. Among the highlights are a rare alloy-bodied Ferrari 275 GTB and a Daytona with plexiglass headlights. There’s an F40, a Maserati MC12, and a Lancia Delta HF Integrale works rally car.
Not enough to pique your interest? There’ll be no fewer than 60 Porsche 911s and 21 Jaguar E-Types offered for sale, along with numerous Aston Martins, Jaguars, Rolls-Royces and Bentleys. There’s a Bugatti EB110, a Porsche Carrera GT and 959, and several classic racing cars as well.
For collectors, it looks like an event not to be missed. Duemilia Ruote is scheduled to take place during the Milano AutoClassica the weekend of November 25.
