Cool American classics don’t only boil down to two-door muscle cars with a gargantuan engine under the bonnet, as Jay Leno demonstrates with this Two-Ten four-door sedan Chevrolet.

Powered by either a 235 cu in (3.9 L) I6, a 265 cu in (4.3 L) V8, or a 283 cu in (4.6 L) V8, the 210 debuted Chevrolet’s small block engine, and its second ever V8. The model remains the perfect car for Chevy collectors on a budget, as opposed to the top-tier, premium model Bel Air variants which command high prices nowadays.

Even so, the 210 remains an honest, no-nonsense car that can offer you the joy of owning, modifying or restomodding a 1950’s Chevy without anyone batting an eye, although this particular model was kept fairly stock.

It’s owned by two war veterans (father and son) who started working on something vaguely resembling a car and built it from the ground up. They went with the original 283 V8 under the hood, and an Edelbrock kill pump and carburetor with a high-energy ignition, but not before replacing the front drum brakes with discs.

You can check their story in Jay Leno’s latest video, but bear in mind that the built was done with on a fairly low budget and still the part.
