Kia is not one of the names one associates with sporty, rear-wheel drive vehicles, but that could very well change once this four-door coupe that might named the GT Stinger hits the market.
Based on the GT Concept, which was shown in 2011, the CK (an internal code name) is reportedly based on a shorter version of the platform that underpins the Genesis G80 and G90.
Despite being all wrapped up in heavy camouflage, the prototype that tackles the Nurburgring in this latest spy video can’t hide its sloping roofline nor its LED headlights.
Believed to go up against the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, the Stinger is expected to use the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Genesis G80 Sport, where it develops 365 horsepower.
Not much else is known about Kia’s rear-wheel drive, four-door coupe, except that it could enter production sometime next year. As for its official reveal date, some have hinted towards a 2016 Paris Auto Show presence, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that’s the case.
