The GLS isn’t the most striking (or exciting) model in Mercedes’ line-up, which is why tuners like Larte Design exist in the first place.

Known for its outrageous body-kits, the tuner took it easy this time (at least compared to its previous projects), focusing its energy on making the Mercedes-Benz GLS, dubbed the ‘Black Crystal’, more imposing and opulent.

Without being too hard on the eye, the new carbon-fiber body kit integrates a plethora of visual add-ons into the large SUV’s body, including new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and expanded fender flares – making the car a bit wider as well.

There are even two Swarovski crystals on the vehicle’s body, while the redesigned grille governs over the front fascia. At the back, a four-pipe exhaust system was embedded into the rear diffuser, while the roof spoiler minimizes the vehicle’s size.

Under the hood, LARTE upgraded the 258 PS (255hp) and 458 lb-ft (620 Nm), 3.0-liter V6 to 290 PS (286hp) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm). Nothing over the top, but enough to offer the car a punchier character.
