Lacking any direct predecessors and not comparable by any means to the SLR and SLS, the AMG GT has put Mercedes back on the grid, challenging the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo and Audi R8.
The “it” variant right now is the GT R, and rightly so; this, however, does not forbid us from indulging in a bit of “what if” musings.
